The Walt Disney Studios was founded on October 16, 1923.
It has since expanded to cover myriad divisions and subsidiaries.  
Walt Disney Imagineering was formed by Walt Disney on December 16, 1952
as WED Enterprises to develop plans for a theme park and to manage Disney's personal assets.
It  is now the research and development arm of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
