Disneyland opened in 1955, in Anaheim, California.
It was the personal project and legacy of Walt Disney himself.
Disney's California Adventure Park opened on the site
of the original Disneyland parking lot in 2001.



Name badge worn by cast members from 1955 - 1962.
Only employees of Disneyland, Inc. working at the park were issued a metal badge.  Hourly wage cast members were issued a badge with an employee number, however in 1959 some area supervisors and salaried Disneyland executives received a metal badge with their full name in place of a number.

This is the most common variety of the early badges.
It is made from stamped aluminum and the Disneyland logo, employee number, and brooch pin on the back
 are attached to the badge with metal riveting.

The Archives suggested that it was worn on the hats of Cast working at the Canal Boats of the World attraction in 1955.

The Candlelight Processional
The annual Christmas devotional held at Disneyland, usually on the first week of December.
A celebrity guest reads the Nativity from Main Street, while a choir and cast members
form a solemn procession down Main Street and sing Christmas hymns.
